As Department Manager Airside Operations, you will manage and control resource planning and business continuity planning, on all operational areas, whilst meeting quality, safety and regulatory standards at all times; to measure delivery targets (KPIs) as mentioned in the service level agreements (SLAs).
You will ensure that all standard operating procedures (SOPs) are up-to-date, and communicated in a clear, concise and timely manner alongside any regulatory, legal and operational and training guidelines enabling DWC operations to run in an optimum and efficient manner. This role is based full-time out of DWC airport, Dubai.
In this role, you will:
   
- Be responsible for efficient business planning of resources required for a safe and customer-centric ground handling operation (passenger terminal and airside operations) in accordance with dnata airport operations policies and procedures and customer airline specific requirements.
 - In consultation with the Head of Airside Operations & Passenger Services, ensure that the planning, resources, training, SOPs and manpower (dnata & contingent) meet the safety, quality, regulatory and dnata operational requirements.
 - Measure operational performance and develops KPIs in line with clients SLA targets and sets a clear communication plan among the teams and department leaders. Reviews and flags inefficiencies.
 - Ensure the most efficient use of resources (human and material) in accordance to Six Sigma lean methodology to safeguard cost effective operations.
 - Ensure that results and corrective/preventive actions from safety incident investigations are communicated and implemented in collaboration with safety team, to protect the wellbeing of all employees and company assets.
 - Manage ISAGO accreditations and prepares the teams for any audit requirements by customer airlines and other regulatory bodies.
 - Review Training plans to ensure all employees are up-to-date on mandatory and regulatory trainings and possess the required knowledge to perform their duties safely.
 - Manage and ensure implementation of best safety and security practices and supports dnatas safety management systems and safety policy by being a role model, conducting briefings, scheduled audits and observation programs.
 - Analyse outcomes, lessons learned, trends on all service shortfalls, and provides analytical data with insights to the management, along with corrective measures.
 - Ensure all systems and resources are in place to support operational needs through close collaboration with IT, Technical Services and Resource Planning.
 - Plan and implements fall back procedures and contingency plans for system failures, disruptions and diversions at the DWC Terminal.
 - In collaboration with Technical services, implement a preventive maintenance service schedule for all Ground Service Equipment (GSE).
 
 QualificationTo be considered for the role, you must meet the below requirements:
- Bachelors degree or a Diploma in Aviation or Airport operations.
 - Minimum 6 to 10 years of experience in Airport operations or other Aviation related operational position in Airline/ Ground handling Industry
 - Must have completed mandatory and Regulatory courses (e.g. Airside/Airport Safety Regulations)
 - Professional expertise in the following: Aircraft Turnaround, Ramp Operations, Passenger/ Baggage Services
 - Must have valid light vehicle license.
 - Proficient knowledge of operational IT systems
 - Advanced leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
 - Proficient Data analysis and presentation skills
 
You’ll have an edge if you have:
- Any PMP Certification.
 - Understanding of Lean Six Sigma Methodology.
 - Safety qualifications such as NEBOSH.
 - Expertise in areas such as ramp, aircraft turnaround, loading and unloading.
