We have an exciting opportunity with our Digital Technology (DT) team for a Digital Technology (DT) Advanced Casting Foundry Lead.
The position will be based onsite at our facilities in Asheville, NC.
What You Will Do:
This is an opportunity for a highly motivated DT individual with strong technical, functional and project management skills to implement and support the expansion of our Asheville, NC through system design, development, and project execution.
The selected candidate will gather requirements for the casting foundry and ensure alignment to the existing machining business as a customer and upstream supply sources.
The candidate will also oversee the implementation of ERP, MES, tooling, vendor management, EH&S, HR and other operations systems, which will enable the foundry project to become operational, with a long-term sustainment plan in place.
The selected individual will work with core Digital Technologies (DT) disciplines, out-sourced service providers and customers to ensure that the overall digital technology needs, and objectives of the business are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the implementation of digital systems for the Advanced Casting Foundry in Asheville, NC via the Software Development Lifecycle process.
- Coordinate blueprinting efforts to gather customer requirements, and translate into solution design across multiple manufacturing applications.
- Manage and present the local Foundry digital roadmap to the overall Asheville DT lead and global lead to validate alignment.
- Advocate for additional resources as needed, including applications and infrastructure through proposed budgets and timelines.
- Improve and develop innovative site capabilities and software with Connected
- Factory and Industry 4.0 principals in conjunction with the overall strategic roadmap.
- Contribute to the overall company strategy of Model Based Enterprise and Digital Twin.
- Work with key business focal leaders to understand digital requirements.
Understand key applications usage for the business and serve as liaison to subject matter experts.
- Work with other P&W DT disciplines to ensure coordinated project delivery to meet business priorities.
- Ensure local DT processes & procedures are documented, secure, and compliant.
- Support audits of digital systems at local sites.
- Create and execute a sustainment plan for after go-live.
- Streamline business workflow processes and develop effective technology.
- Manage the priorities and requirements of assigned DT resources.
- Occasional travel will be required.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, or related degree with 8+ years of experience working in Digital Technology, including 2+ years of program, project or team management; OR an advanced degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, or related degree with 5+ years of experience working in Digital Technology, including 2+ years of program, project or team management.
- Must be able to work independently with limited direction to accomplish goals and can recognize areas for process improvement & formulate actionable plans to address such areas.
- Demonstrated project management skills.
- Knowledge of ERP and MES systems.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- System architecture and design background.
- Knowledge of SCADA and Industry 4.0 principles, including Operations Technology.
- Excellent customer service skills required providing a high level of service to satisfy/fulfill internal needs accurately in a timely manner.
- Ability to interpret high level business requirements, and liaise between business customers, technology teams and support teams.
- Strong analytical, problem solving, project management, communications, and presentation skills highly desired.

This role is:
Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite.

The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
