We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Research/Project Engineer to join our engineering team. This role is integral to supporting the reverse engineering and design of precision aerospace components, contributing directly to the development of FAA-approved replacement parts (PMA).
The ideal candidate will assist in technical research, design documentation, and cross-departmental coordination while collaborating with external vendors and suppliers.
An Airframe and/or Powerplant (A&P) License is preferred but not required.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the reverse engineering and design of aerospace components, ensuring compliance with FAA standards and industry best practices.
 
- Prepare comprehensive engineering reports and data packages for FAA approval and certification.
 
- Conduct detailed research using aircraft technical documentation, including Illustrated Parts Catalogs (IPCs), Component Maintenance Manuals (CMMs), and Structural Repair Manuals (SRMs), to identify new PMA opportunities.
 
- Review, verify, and update technical drawings, specifications, and FAA submittals for accuracy and completeness.
 
- Collaborate with suppliers, vendors, and internal departments to track project milestones, materials, and deliverables.
 
- Coordinate packaging and shipments of components and materials while maintaining proper documentation and handling procedures.
 
- Maintain organized project files and engineering documentation in accordance with company and FAA standards.
 
- Perform additional tasks and provide support as assigned by the General Manager
