What You Will Do
Control & Diagnostic Systems (CDS) is a dynamic engineering organization focused on the development and certification of military, commercial and industrial gas turbine engine control and diagnostic systems. CDS is responsible for all aspects of Pratt & Whitney engine control and diagnostic system development including: requirements analysis & definition, system & software architecture, algorithm design, and product software design, verification & validation. We integrate control and diagnostic system design across other engine system modules and with the air vehicles and provide support throughout the complete engine product life cycle. This Sr. Engineering role is an opportunity to work on the development, analysis and implementation of onboard real time models across military and commercial gas turbine engines.
Develop or implement changes to Onboard real-time models.
Integration with internal customers including engine operability and engine performance teams, control laws, control system safety and reliability, V&V, DPHM.
Application of symbolic/analytic methods for model reduction and linearization.
Design, implementation, and validation of control system estimation, FDA, and control law solutions from concept through engine test and entry into service.
Root cause analysis and corrective action for model-based synthesis/estimation integration, test, and field issues.
Rapid development of software solutions to emerging hardware issues.
English (read, write, speak) is required when communicating with customers, co-workers, or supervisors who only speak English.
Control system trade studies for improving key propulsion system metrics.
Travel is up to 10.
Qualifications You Must Have
Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
5 years of engineering experience or an Advanced in STEM with 3 years of engineering experience.
Qualifications We Prefer:
Knowledge in systems engineering principles
Experience with Simulink, Matlab, NPSS or Python
Model-based Systems Engineering experience
Ability to acquire U.S. government issued security clearance
