Job Description:
The Staff Engineer demonstrates accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. In this role you will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional area(s) of expertise, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy.This job is for the Systems Engineer of the Hydrogen Combustion Engineering Program.The hydrogen combustion is a key part of the Avio Aero and GE Aerospace sustainability roadmap which include technology maturation of the combustor, fuel and control system for a future turbofan burning hydrogen. Each technology aspect will be tested individually on the ground in preparation of an engine ground test before a flight demonstration.The Engineering Program Leader - Systems Engineer will be the engineering leader for the workscope will be executed within the HYDEA Clean Aviation program and the complementary initiatives. You will be responsible for establishing requirements, developing plans to meet these requirements, and leading the engineering teams through execution..

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Manage systems requirements, specifications, and flow down.

  • Drives validation and verification activities for the overall product/system, including system level testing.

  • Responsible for defining product requirements for the module / component / subcontractors and partners teams.

  • Responsible for driving CTQ / Risk trades within the teams designing the components.

  • Ensure execution of that overall technology maturation as per the demonstration engine program schedule.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Sound and proven experience in an engineering position.

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Mechanical, Materials or Aerospace Engineering preferred

  • Significant experience in leading multi-disciplined engineering teams

  • Ability to work successfully in team environment and to build relationship with customers

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate at a variety of levels, from detailed design reviews to high-level leadership reviews

  • Demonstrated proficiency in written, oral, and presentation skills

  • Fluency in Italian and English

  • Work VISA, in accordance with local regulation, is required.
