SUMMARY
The Associate   Project   Engineer is   responsible   for assisting   the   Project Engineer and Program   Manager   with   the   execution   of   one   or   more   simultaneous   projects in   accordance   with   a valid,   executed   contract,   per company   policies   and   procedures   and   work   instructions. The   employee   will   lead   a collaborative   team   and   will   contribute   to   various   projects under   minimal   supervision.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist   Project   Engineer   in   establishing   integrated   teams.   Develop   project   plans   to   manage   cost,   schedule,   and   resources   to   satisfy   project   goals,   milestones,   cost   targets,   and   product   quality.
 - Track project schedule deliverables and assignments. Follow up with assigned IPT member as deadlines near.
 - Coordinate and exercise functional authority for planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of engineering projects within the assigned area of responsibility by performing the following duties:
- Provide or coordinate technical direction to the project team to facilitate timely task completion.
 - Review documents, drawings and ECO’s for technical accuracy.
 - Manage   IPT   member   accountability   plans   to   the   program.
 
 - Assist in development of drawings, reports, and substantiations that support the product definition.
 - Facilitate communication and interaction amongst supporting organization functional representatives.
 - Track key project metrics as assigned by Lead Project Engineer or Program Management.
 - Proactively identify and mitigate project risks, elevating critical business decisions to appropriate management.
 - Foster alignment, accountability, and collaboration across the IPT team comprised of internal cross- functional team members, contracted resources and subject matter experts.
 - Support the Program Manager with the execution of one or more simultaneous projects in accordance with a valid, executed contract.
 - Assist the Program Manager with the preparation and conduction of the Project Kick-Off Meetings including ITCM, PDR, CDR and FDR.
 - Assist the Program Manager to develop and implement recovery plans for schedule and budget deviations to the project plan.
 - Coordinate with necessary ECODA team memebrs to ensure compliance is met for the applicable regulatory requirements of the project.
 - Liaise with assigned engineering resources to ensure engineering deliverables are accomplished within program schedule and budgeted hours.
 - Participate in Project Meetings as required by the Project SOW. Review and verify project estimates monthly (so-called project cost reports).
 - Assist in review of design elements as defined by the SOW to validate they are developed to the organization’s quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
 - Prepare Advance Equipment Material requests for long-lead materials.
 - Recommend new processes where needed for quality improvement, cost reduction and on-time delivery.
 - Document all project action items and ensure completion.
 - Complete initial / recurrent training requirements in a timely manner.
 - Other duties may be assigned.
 
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide training, guidance, and mentorship for the team.
 - Prioritize and assign tasks; examine work output for completeness, process conformance and timeliness.
 
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this   job   successfully, an individual   must be   able   to   perform each essential duty   satisfactorily. The   requirements   listed   below   are   representative   of   the   minimum   knowledge,   skill,   and/or   ability   required.
- Bachelors degree in Engineering from four-year college or university or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
 - 3+ years of engineering experience in Aerospace or related field.
 - Experience with aircraft systems modifications is preferred.
 - Effective computer skills; Microsoft Office software and other company and discipline specific software applications.
 - Ability to build positive relationships and to maintain cross-functional partnerships.
 - Effective written and verbal communication skills.
 - Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
 - Must be detail oriented with the ability to multi-task.
 - Ability and willingness to work extended hours, when needed.
 
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Read, write and understand the English language.
 - Ability to read, write, analyze and interpret complex contracts, legal documents, technical documents, engineering drawings, regulations, procedures and manuals.

- Occasional travel may be required; the employee filling this position must be willing to travel on short notice and possibly for extended periods.

 - Exposure to noise, smells, dust and fumes typically associated in an aviation environment.
